Renewable energy company Infinergy has submitted plans for an eight turbine extension to the operational Lochluichart Wind Farm. The extension would form an integrated wind cluster with both the Lochluichart and Corriemoillie Wind Farms and would help to maximise power output on site.
Lochluichart Wind Farm Extension II (www.lxxwindfarm.co.uk) is now in its initial consultation phase, as site research, environmental studies and design refinements continue to inform the Environmental Statement which would accompany an application to Scottish Ministers under Section 36 of the Electricity Act.
Currently, 8 turbines are proposed with a minimum tip height of 125m, taking advantage of new turbine technology and addressing the UK Government policy changes which have taken place in recent times.
Community Open Days will take place over the coming months to ensure the local residents of Garve and District are able to input into the design process and share their views.
