  • Since 1991, more than 50 public opinion surveys have been carried out in the UK to learn people's opinions about wind farms. Consistently, a majority of respondents, often 70-90%, say they support wind power both in principle and in practice, locally and nationally. Source: Sustainable Development Commission

  • A 'before and after' study by the DTI at the UK's first wind farm at Delabole in Cornwall showed that 80% of those asked felt that it made no difference to their daily life. Six months after construction, 84% of those living nearby were found to either approve or strongly approve of wind power. Source: Friends of the Earth
